Traceable & Ethically Sourced
At Havoc Coffee, quality and ethics go hand in hand.
We source premium beans that can be traced right back to their origin farms through detailed profiles provided by our trusted sourcing partners.
Many of our coffees carry Fair Trade and Organic certifications; when they don’t, we work through agents who know the farmers personally and verify their practices.
Every bean we roast upholds the same high standards: integrity, transparency, and uncompromising flavour.
Roasted Responsibly in Whanganui
While our roaster itself runs on gas to achieve the precision and control that great coffee demands, the rest of our roastery is powered by 100 % solar electricity.
From lighting and packaging to grinders, sealers, and the systems that run our business ~ every part of Havoc Coffee’s operation runs on renewable energy. This balance allows us to roast each batch with the accuracy that quality coffee requires, while still minimising our carbon footprint and operating as sustainably as possible.
Our small-batch roasting approach also means we use energy efficiently and reduce waste, ensuring every roast is fresh, consistent, and true to the craft that defines Havoc Coffee.
Sustainable Packaging
We’re transitioning our wholesale range to soft-plastic recyclable packaging, ensuring it can be returned through New Zealand’s recycling streams.
This shift keeps coffee fresher on the shelf and significantly reduces landfill compared to mixed-material or foil-lined bags.
For retail packs, we prioritise recyclable or compostable options that balance product quality, shelf life, and planet impact.
Sustainable Deliveries from Roastery to Door
Our deliveries are made using an electric vehicle, reducing emissions and ensuring every Havoc Coffee order is delivered as sustainably as it’s roasted.
By switching to electric transport, we’ve cut out tailpipe emissions entirely for our local Whanganui deliveries ~ helping us lower our overall carbon footprint and operate more responsibly across every part of our business.
It’s a small change that makes a meaningful difference ~ delivering great coffee with less impact on the planet.
